Compassionate Classroom at Deepalaya Community Library

Jan 31, 2024 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Deepalaya Community Library, Deepalaya Community Library, Okhla, Phase 1, New Delhi

STRAW India organized a Compassionate Classroom Program and Workshop for about 30 children in the age group of 8 to 12 at the Deepalaya Community Library on January 31, 2024.  This interactive session emphasized on the significance of understanding the body language of community dogs, methods to care for them, and various ways to establish a healthy bond of love and companionship.

STRAW always has a DIY session as part of the workshop. This helps children to absorb what they learnt during the story telling and discussion part of the session. During this workshop, the children learnt to make toys for their pets, by utilizing waste fabrics at home, old socks, waste plastic bottles, etc. The session highlighted the crucial role of toys in enhancing dogs' physical, mental, and emotional well-being and developing a bond with the pet dog. The session concluded with the children listening attentively, participating actively and sharing their personal experiences with dogs and discussing effective ways to handle diverse situations.

This is the first of the workshops thats been sponsored by Help Animals India, Seattle, USA.
