Empathy Bridges the Gap Between "Us" and "Them" for Enactus-Motilal Nehru College

We are so overjoyed that Enactus Moti Lal Nehru College gave us yet another opportunity to conduct our animal welfare educational program for their students on the 12th of February. This is the third time that we are collaborating with this college, but of course for a different set of students. 🐾

STRAW India is elated to have successfully conducted another session of our Compassionate Classroom program with the wonderful team of budding animal lovers at Enactus, Moti Lal Nehru College. @bedesi_pet_accessories @enactusmlnc

The theme of the session, ‘Animals too have feelings.’ This presentation highlights the wide range of emotions like love, grief, embarrassment, fear, jealousy, empathy, greed, etc. that animals experience which makes them so much like us. It is therefore only ethical to try to understand them better & treat them as sentient beings.

The entire 60+ students who attended the event were wonderful. They listened attentively and participated with gusto. They also shared many of their own experiences and asked a number of insightful questions that led to a lot of interesting discussions.

At STRAW India, our aim is to keep conducting such insightful sessions with schools & colleges so that we are able to sow seeds of compassion in the youth, raise awareness about various problems that animals face, all leading to a ripple effect that could create a new generation of youth who could become the voice for the voiceless.
