Straw India concluded a 2-day program on Himalayan animals with emphasis on Snow leopard conservation at Deepalaya Library. Okhla. followed by a Pyramid of Life activity on inter-relationships in the Himalayan animal life, followed by a movie screening on how humans can be both beneficial and harmful for Snow Leopards.

The children from Deepalaya Library, Okhla, New Delhi deep-dived into the curious yet mischievous world of rats and learned about how humans could could avoid rats into their homes by keeping them clean and thereby not hurt them; how they could co-exist, of course without becoming a nuisance to each other. This was done through reading activities, dramatics, storytelling and watching the Walt Disney movie, Ratatouille.

Project Poshan of NSS-SVC in collaboration with Straw India, an animal welfare NGO that creates awareness about various animal welfare issues among school children and college students, organized a program to sensitize the children of Sanjay Camp on the topic understanding the body language of dogs.

Our Co-Founder, Ms Vasanthi Kumar was invited to speak at the India for Animals Conference (IFA) 2022, which is an extension of FIAPO’s work to strengthen the animal protection movement in the country. India for Animals 2022 was a virtual conference, held on 29 & 30th January 2022 with an estimated participation of 1,000 people whose hearts beat for animals.

On 1st October 2020, STRAW was invited by SCANOVA (https://scanova.io/) to do a webinar which was part of their monthly "Learning and Development" session. STRAW India created a beautiful and calming virtual event for Team SCANOVA on the topic, "Bridging the Gap Between Animals and Humans." During this webinar, definitely one aspect came right through and that is - there is one language that both animals and humans have in common and that is the language of LOVE.
